Auckland (25 August 2009) - The Guardians of New Zealand Superannuation today announced that they had terminated the large cap active equities mandate held by Barclays Global Investors (BGI).
BGI was appointed in November 2003 to manage a large cap active equity mandate. They retain a multi-strategy mandate for the Guardians.
This decision does not affect the New Zealand Superannuation Fund's strategic asset allocation to listed large cap equities.
The Guardians work with investment managers around the world to execute the Fund's investment strategy. A list of the Guardians' external investment managers can be found on the Fund's website www.nzsuperfund.co.nz.
